WHAT IS IT

• The electronic wallet is a feature of the Opera4U app, a sort of rechargeable virtual current account, which is used to pay for meals in university canteens.
• The transactions, the residual credit, and the meals consumed by the user are all recorded in the electronic wallet

HOW IT WORKS

• it works through a user identification barcode, which appears by clicking on the name in the Opera4U app.

TIMELINE

• The e-wallet will be active starting from July 2025, and until the end of September it will be possible to use both methods (the current method and the e-wallet). IMPORTANT: Starting from October 1st, 2025, the e-wallet will be the only way to pay for meals in all university canteens.
  We therefore invite all users not to make any further top-ups on the canteen card and to use the remaining credit as soon as possible, and in any case by October 31st, 2025. After this date, any unused credit cannot be refunded or transferred

HOW TO TOP UP

• The electronic wallet can be recharged with a credit card or prepaid card.
• Charging is done via the Opera4U App with online payment (commission fees apply) OR at the cashier (no fees, minimum amount 20 euros).
• Please remember that, if the credit balance is zero, meals cannot be consumed.

Please note: The payment processing times may vary (i.e. the credit reloaded may not be immediately available for payment of the meal), so it is advisable to proceed with the loading well in advance.

WHAT TO DO IN THE EVENT OF MALFUNCTIONING

• In the event of malfunctioning, open a ticket on the Opera Universitaria website in the "contact us" section, selecting "IT" from the "Department" drop-down menu.
