Electronic wallet
WHAT IS IT
- The electronic wallet is a feature of the Opera4U app, a sort of rechargeable virtual current account used to pay for meals in university cafeterias.
- All transactions, remaining credit, and all consumption made by the user are recorded in the electronic wallet.
HOW IT WORKS
- It works through a user identification barcode, which appears by clicking on the name in the Opera4U app.
HOW TO ACCESS
- Unitn users will need to authenticate using their university credentials.
- For users Non-Unitn (Higher Education, Conservatory, School for Linguistic Mediators, Trentino Art Academy, and Health Degrees) students will need to register using the email address available (either their institution’s or their personal email address). ATTENTION. Before proceeding, you will need to wait for validation from Opera Universitaria.
TIMING
- The wallet has been active since July 2025, and both methods (current method and wallet) can be used until the end of September. ATTENTION. Starting from October 1, 2025, it will be the only method to pay for meals in all university canteens. We therefore urge all users not to top up their meal card further and to use any remaining credit as soon as possible, and in any case by October 31, 2025. After this date, any unused credit cannot be refunded or transferred.
HOW TO TOP UP
- Your wallet can be topped up with a credit card or prepaid card.
Top-ups can be made via the Opera4U app with online payment (fees apply) OR at the cashier (no fees, minimum amount €20).
Please note that if your credit is 0, you will not be able to consume your meal.
ATTENTION: Payment processing times may vary (i.e., the topped-up credit may not be immediately available for payment for your meal), so it is advisable to top up your wallet well in advance.
WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF MALFUNCTION
- In case of malfunction, use the ticket system on the Opera website, under “contattaci“, selecting the “IT” service.
