Opera Universitaria prioritizes investing in young people and giving them the opportunity to develop their talents and skills. In this regard, one of the cornerstones of the right to education is the scholarship system, which enables all capable and deserving students, even those without financial resources, to pursue their studies.
The potential beneficiaries are vast, and are reached through two intervention methods:
OPERA DIRECT INTERVENTIONS:
- Students enrolled at the University of Trento, the Bonporti Conservatory of Music, and the Trentino Art Academy Institute for Advanced Artistic Education; The call for applications is published on the website approximately starting in June each year;
- Students enrolled in Advanced Professional Training courses organized by the Autonomous Province of Trento (Provincial Law No. 5 of August 7, 2006 – Trentino Education and Training System).
INTERVENTIONS DELEGATED BY THE AUTONOMOUS PROVINCE OF TRENTO FOR STUDENTS RESIDENT IN TRENTINO:
- Enrolled in Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs in healthcare professions and in single-cycle degree programs in Medicine and Surgery (Article 43 of Provincial Law No. 8/96);
- Enrolled in Social Health Worker (OSS) courses and from the academic year 2023/2024 Dental Office Assistant (ASO) (Article 43 of Provincial Law 8/96);
- Enrolled in bachelor’s and master’s degree programs at universities in the rest of Italy or at foreign universities (Article 23 of Provincial Law 9/91);
- Enrolled in academic or non-academic tertiary programs in Italy and abroad, who have accumulated capital while attending secondary school (paragraph 3-ter of Article 23 of Provincial Law no. 9/91).
Scholarship amounts vary depending on the economic situation and type of recipient and have progressively increased over time to provide effective support adequate to the cost of living.
OTHER ASSISTANCE
Starting from the academic year A program to support university students with severe disabilities was introduced in 2025/2026. This program provides a flat-rate care allowance to cover the costs of paying qualified personnel to assist students during their course of study.
