Opera Universitaria was founded in 1991 with the aim of supporting students on their university journey through initiatives and services capable of eliminating obstacles to the full enjoyment of the right to education, as established in Article 34 of our Constitution: “The capable and deserving, even if lacking in means, have the right to attain the highest levels of education. The Republic enforces this right with scholarships, family allowances, and other benefits, which must be awarded through competitive examinations.”
Since its founding, Opera’s ambition to be more than just a provider of services, but also a promoter of a genuine student community, rooted and integrated into the local community, has been immediately evident.
Through ongoing dialogue between the university, the local community, and institutions, the organization’s work aims to concretely respond to the real needs of students while also being capable of bringing added value to our community through well-prepared, competent, and motivated young people. who pass through or choose to remain in the area for their professional and personal lives even after completing their studies. This has proven to be a winning strategy over time, allowing Opera to maintain a level of service that meets national standards and is capable of competing with the best systems at the European level.
Opera is driven by the principles of equality, impartiality, continuity, participation, effectiveness, and efficiency. We now want to look forward, adapting to an increasingly international student community, fostering exchange and dialogue with Europe and the rest of the world, creating a physical place for encounters, opportunities, and cultural stimulation. Therefore, residency, but also culture, sports, participation, and environmental awareness.
